## Description

PublicMetaDB (pmdb) is a community-driven database and tracking platform for movies and television shows. It brings personal viewing tools together with shared information contributed and improved by its members. Users can track what they have watched, follow progress by season, save resume points, and see upcoming episodes in a calendar. They can rate titles on a 0-to-100 scale using their own labels, with community averages available for comparison.

The platform also supports timestamped highlights, viewer-submitted and voted skip segments for intros, recaps, and credits, and mappings between identifiers used by different catalogs. Members can create and share lists, explore curated picks, and view summaries of their watching history, including hours, streaks, and genres. Contributions such as ratings, timestamps, and ID mappings can be voted on, with contributor credit and badges recognizing participation.

PublicMetaDB offers an API that lets players access its data using a key generated in account settings. The service is built around shared contributions and describes its underlying title data as coming from TMDB, without endorsement or certification by TMDB.
