The Pueblo Zoo in Pueblo, CO is dedicated to empowering people to engage in the conservation of animals and their natural habitats. As an accredited facility by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), the zoo covers twenty-five acres in Pueblo City Park and is home to over 400 animals from 125 different species worldwide. They offer various educational outreach programs, including camps and on-site programming, which serve thousands of children in Pueblo County each year.
The zoo also provides partnerships with the library and business partners to offer free or reduced admission to those who may not afford to visit. Managed by the non-profit Pueblo Zoological Society, the zoo actively supports local conservation projects and three global efforts to protect African penguins, red pandas, and African painted dogs. The Pueblo Zoo's mission is to create a better planet for the animals we love.
