## Description

PulseCities is a New York City data tool that helps residents, researchers, and neighborhood observers explore potential displacement signals at a specific address, ZIP code, or neighborhood. Its map brings together records from six city systems, including deeds, building permits, eviction filings, HPD violations, and 311 complaints, to show the paper trail associated with a property. Users can view displacement scores and compare ZIP codes across the city, as well as examine events such as evictions, purchases, and resales.

The site also offers tools for investigating ownership and real estate activity. “Who owns my building?” helps users explore recorded ownership, while Radar identifies LLCs that acquired multiple buildings in one ZIP within 90 days. Flip Watch highlights buildings where an LLC took ownership and then filed a renovation permit within 60 days. PulseCities provides rankings, operator records, methodology information, and neighborhood views. Built by Michael Espin, the project is presented as a free resource supported by contributions, with operating costs funded through donations.
