## Description

Pulse Local is a privacy-focused budgeting app from a small team of machine-learning practitioners and product specialists. Designed to run on your own computer, it keeps your financial ledger, AI models, and questions on your device rather than sending them to an online AI service. After the models are downloaded during setup, the app says it sends no personal information; optional bank syncing passes transaction data through a server without storing it. Pulse Local offers budgeting plans and targets, spending categories, rules, rollover, transaction splits, insights, cash-flow tools, forecasts, and a chat that answers questions using your own figures. Spending answers are checked against transactions, with details available to review, and the app acknowledges uncertainty when it cannot confidently interpret a question. It supports ledgers in currencies worldwide and imports bank files from different countries and languages. Bank synchronization through Plaid is currently limited to US banks; elsewhere, users can import CSV files. The Mac app is available, with a Windows version planned.
