## Description

PUNICODEX is a digital project dedicated to restoring the original Unicode forms of names drawn from mythology, sacred traditions, and historical places. Its Pantheon brings together hundreds of digital “temples” across 25 cultural and linguistic traditions, presenting names with their original scripts, diacritics, scholarly context, and pronunciation. The collection spans Greek, Norse, Avestan, Devanagari, Japanese, cuneiform, and other writing systems, with entries exploring the figures, concepts, and realms represented.

The project’s foundation includes scholarly editions, curated galleries, source provenance, and restoration articles that explain how individual spellings are reconstructed. PUNICODEX also offers a lexicon and a REST API for developers, covering names, variants, etymology, pronunciation, domain availability, Punycode conversion, and authenticity checks. Its store, called the Reliquary, features products inspired by the Pantheon. In-development tools include a browser extension, a mobile app with offline access and an AR lens, and an AI Unicode specialist. Through its archive, essays, and quarterly Herald, PUNICODEX connects digital language tools with mythology, linguistics, and cultural preservation.
