## Description

Fundación Grupo Puntacana is a pioneering nonprofit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for the well-being of local communities while promoting innovative solutions for environmental preservation. Founded over 50 years ago by Ted Kheel and Frank Rainieri, the organization has evolved to manage over ten impactful environmental programs, including sustainable agriculture, coral gardening, and the conservation of the endangered Hispaniola hawk.

Among its many initiatives, the Fundación operates the first Sustainability Center within a resort, educating both visitors and local residents on sustainable practices. The foundation also prioritizes social programs, addressing health and education through community clinics and schools, while actively engaging in recycling and waste management through its "Descarga Cero" program.

With a commitment to eco-tourism, Fundación Grupo Puntacana provides a unique natural experience at the Puntacana Resort & Club, where guests can participate in various ecological activities. Its holistic approach ensures that both environment and community thrive in harmony, making it a leader in sustainable tourism.
