Our innovative and green technology refines intermediate raw materials such as Mixed Hydroxide Precipitate (MHP) or black mass from recycled batteries into high-quality precursor Cathode Active Material (pCAM) for lithium-ion batteries. By using PBT's fully patented processes, we emit up to 85% less CO2 than standard refining methods, making EV batteries made with our cathode material less CO2 intensive. We unlock the value of previously less-viable nickel sources, generating high-quality products from otherwise unusable stock. Our technology is truly circular, as it can refine raw materials as well as black mass from recycled batteries or off-spec battery materials. PBT's technology is based on simplicity and skips the metal separation phase, using less heat and avoiding toxic solvents. This results in clean, high-quality battery materials without the high CO2 burden. Our flexibility allows us to adjust materials to specific ratios, creating bespoke battery material to meet our client's needs. With operations in Hagen, Germany, and Western Australia, we are strategically located to service the EV manufacturing hub. Our commercial refinery in Hagen currently produces 2,500t of Ni annually, with expansion underway to reach 15,000tpa of pCAM. In Western Australia, our pCAM Hub is the first of its kind, with a feasibility study in progress to produce 50,000tpa expandable to 100,000tpa within 5 years.
