## Description

The QAIT Association is a Swiss non-profit based in Zurich that governs the economic and compliance framework of the SEALCOIN ecosystem. It does not build or operate the underlying protocol; instead, it provides governance, economic coordination, and trust standards for decentralized machine economies. Its work covers QAIT token governance, token distribution and incentives, device identity and onboarding, regulatory compliance, and marketplace settlement.

The association coordinates Proof-of-Security, linking incentives to device integrity and secure participation. It also defines rules for autonomous transactions involving IoT devices and AI agents, including exchanges of energy, data, satellite connectivity, and computing resources. Verified devices can access decentralized marketplaces, while token holders participate in on-chain decisions about ecosystem parameters, treasury matters, and compliance policy.

SEALCOIN provides the protocol infrastructure for device identity and machine-to-machine transactions; QAIT supplies the governance layer above it. The association promotes adoption through collaboration with industry, academia, and public institutions. Its ecosystem is built on Hedera, where QAIT is issued through the Hedera Token Service.
