## Description

Quantum Country is an educational project offering a free introduction to quantum computing and quantum mechanics. Created by Andy Matuschak and Michael Nielsen, it presents its material as a series of interactive essays designed to help readers understand and remember complex ideas. The experience uses a mnemonic learning approach informed by cognitive science, integrating memory prompts into the reading interface so learners can revisit important concepts over time.

The essays explain the basic principles of quantum computing and quantum mechanics, then apply them to topics including the quantum search algorithm and quantum teleportation. The material is intended for readers who are comfortable with the fundamentals of linear algebra and complex numbers; the project teaches the additional concepts needed along the way. Quantum Country aims to make a challenging subject more approachable by combining clear instruction with a format built to support lasting understanding. Readers can access the introduction for free, and the project invites support through Patreon to help fund future work.
