# Quantum Metaphotonics - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `quantummetaphotonics.com` ## Description Quantum Metaphotonics & Metamaterials is a Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative focused on combining metamaterials with quantum optics to expand how light interacts with matter. Supported by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, the initiative explores how engineered nanostructures can shape electromagnetic modes and influence the behavior of quantum emitters. Its research has two central aims. Quantum Metaphotonics investigates ways to enhance or modify light–matter interactions at the level of single emitters, with the goal of realizing new regimes of solid-state quantum optics. Quantum Metamaterials studies how dense arrays of emitters can be coherently coupled to create collective excitations and photonic analogues of quantum solids with new optoelectronic properties. Approaches include metamaterial cavities, waveguides, and antennas that can confine light to deeply subwavelength volumes or support extended modes. The initiative shares information about its research through team profiles, publications and reports, meetings and webinars, and highlights and stories.
