## Description

Queerclash is an Australian LGBTQIA+ ice hockey tournament created to make the sport welcoming, inclusive and fun for players of all experience levels. Held at IceHQ in Reservoir, Melbourne, from 1 to 4 April 2027, the event brings together LGBTQIA+ skaters and supportive allies for four days of hockey, social activities and community connection. Its open draft format places every player in the same registration pool, then balances teams to create fair, competitive games and ensure everyone gets time on the ice. Players register individually, share their experience level and meet their new teammates at the opening-night draft and welcome party, where rosters and custom jerseys are revealed. The tournament also features back-to-back hockey and an all-star game, alongside accessibility and sensory information to help attendees feel prepared. Queerclash supports LGBTQIA+ health and community initiatives through partner charities, including Queer Pasifika, Trans Justice Project and Language Justice Network. It also offers sponsorship opportunities that can help fund ice time and player subsidies, reducing financial barriers to participation.
