QuSoft is a dynamic and innovative brand that specializes in quantum software and technology. Founded in 2015 as a collaboration between the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI), QuSoft conducts groundbreaking research in the fields of Physics and Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science, and other potential areas of study. Their focus revolves around quantum simulation, quantum information sciences, and cryptography. With a goal of harnessing the power of quantum information, QuSoft pioneers the study of quantum information science, developing new protocols, algorithms, and applications that can run on small to medium-sized prototypes of a quantum computer. Their research can be categorized into five main lines: Quantum Simulations & Few-Qubit Applications, Quantum Information Science, Cryptography in a Quantum World, Quantum Algorithms & Complexity, and Quantum for Society and Business. QuSoft also collaborates with industry partners to explore industrial use cases for quantum computers. They work closely with companies such as ABN AMRO, Atos, Bosch, KLM, SURF, and Toyota to develop and refine industrially relevant quantum algorithms. As a part of Quantum Delta NL, a national program launched to stimulate quantum innovation and economic development in the Netherlands, QuSoft is tasked with exploring quantum software and applications. QuSoft is backed by two renowned institutions: Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI), the national research institute for mathematics and computer science in the Netherlands, and the University of Amsterdam (UvA), one of Europe's largest comprehensive universities known for its broad research-intensive programs.
