## Description

Rachel Ungerer is a contemporary artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a disabled queer artist, she creates paintings that explore intimacy, remembrance, women’s experiences, and the ways people connect across their differences. Her work draws inspiration from German Expressionism and uses gestural brushstrokes to convey emotion, giving personal themes a direct, expressive presence.

In her new Intimacy series, Ungerer examines the intersection of queerness, disability, and sexuality. The paintings focus on quiet, private moments in which people can exist beyond the stigmas and expectations that label them abnormal. They affirm the beauty and sensuality of queer and disabled lives, including individual accessibility needs, without editing or apology.

Ungerer’s website presents her artwork and shares updates through its news and subscription features. It also includes a store, with shipping and returns information and a store policy available to visitors. Across her practice, she offers a thoughtful, personal perspective on identity, vulnerability, and human connection, inviting viewers to see difference as part of what makes people fully themselves.
