CoCoRaHS, short for the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network, is a unique non-profit organization dedicated to collecting and sharing precipitation data across the United States. Founded in 1998 by the Colorado Climate Center, CoCoRaHS has grown into a vibrant nationwide community, engaging thousands of volunteers from diverse backgrounds to monitor and report rainfall, hail, and snowfall. Participants use affordable measurement tools to provide valuable meteorological data that aids in water resource management, weather education, and emergency preparedness.

CoCoRaHS serves a wide array of users, including the National Weather Service, hydrologists, and local communities, fostering engagement in meteorological science. The network aims to enhance data accessibility, promote citizen involvement in weather observation, and offer educational resources for teachers and general audiences.
