## Description

Raíces Cultural Center is a NJ Nonprofit Corporation dedicated to preserving cultural roots through the arts, history, and ecology. Their mission is to investigate, document, and disseminate traditional Caribbean culture through art, history, and ecology. As reflected in their name, Raíces, which means 'roots' in Spanish, the center aims to create a vibrant community of artists and foster exploration, collaboration, and cultural fusion within the performing, visual, and media arts, as well as their connection with Nature and Planet Earth. They believe in the inherent bond between Mother Earth and humans, and encourage participants to join their endeavor in re-healing Mother Earth and preserving the global cultural experience. Raíces Cultural Center offers hands-on opportunities for individuals to learn about sustainable ecology and its connection to culture through art, music, dance, spoken word, and folkloric traditions. They also provide affordable artistic, creative, and ecological events and educational programs for the Central NJ community. With their commitment to equitable opportunities for artists and community members, they aim to cultivate and develop the talents of students dedicated to the performing, visual, and ecological arts. By establishing a permanent eco-preserve homestead/arts center, they seek to facilitate the exploration of cultural and ecological arts and sciences.
