## Description

Rainbow’s Pre-School is an independent charity-run playgroup based within the grounds of Carr Junior School in Acomb, York. It provides a friendly, stimulating and secure setting where children can learn, develop and prepare for school. The pre-school welcomes children aged approximately two to five, with individual care and attention reflecting each child’s needs. Its approach follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and staff trained in Elklan support children’s language development.

The team is led by a manager and supported by an elected committee of current and former parents. Staff hold at least Level 3 qualifications and paediatric first-aid certificates, with training in safeguarding, food hygiene, FGM and Prevent Duty. Additional termly courses help the team stay informed and support children’s development.

Rainbow’s operates during school term time, Monday to Friday, offering morning and afternoon sessions. Early drop-off and a lunch club are available for an additional charge. Families can also access term dates and the playgroup’s policies.
