## Description

Rainbow Refugee is a dedicated Vancouver-based community group established in 2000, focused on supporting individuals seeking refuge in Canada due to persecution linked to their sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or HIV status. The organization advocates for safe and equitable migration, fostering communities of belonging for LGBTQI+ refugees.

Rainbow Refugee provides essential assistance, information, and system navigation for refugees and refugee claimants, facilitating their pursuit of refugee status in Canada. They manage the Rainbow Refugee Assistant Partnership, which enables private sponsorships in collaboration with other LGBTQI+ organizations, forming the Rainbow Coalition for Refuge.

To promote resettlement, Rainbow Refugee encourages community involvement through Circles of Hope, where individuals can come together to fundraise and sponsor LGBTQI+ refugees, actively contributing to their journey toward safer, more accepting environments. With an emphasis on advocacy and support, Rainbow Refugee is committed to making a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable individuals in search of safety.
