Raising Teenagers Uganda (RTU) is a non-governmental organization with a mission to empower teenage girls and ensure they complete their education. Since 2014, RTU has been creating safe spaces for girls between the ages of 10-18 to discuss issues affecting their well-being. Through knowledge, assertiveness, and communication skills, RTU equips these girls with the tools they need to succeed. They advocate for regular school attendance for every girl and provide menstrual hygiene management and reproductive health education to all. Career guidance and counseling services are also offered, addressing concerns related to violence against children both in schools and at home. RTU works in collaboration with their dedicated team, including the founder and director, Hope Nankunda, and other passionate individuals. Their vision is to create a future where all girls feel confident and contribute to the social, economic, and political development of their communities. With their presence in five districts in Uganda, RTU continues to expand their reach and positively impact the lives of teenage girls.
