## Description

Porvoon Raittiusseura is a nonprofit temperance association serving the Porvoo community for more than a century. Its mission is to promote a healthy, natural, positive lifestyle free from intoxicating substances, while also supporting parents and encouraging responsible, open conversations with children and young people. The association emphasizes the influence of adult role models and the security that clear boundaries can provide.

Its preventive work focuses particularly on children and young people. Activities include support for schoolchildren’s clubs, partnership with designated school classes, and visits to schools to provide information about alcohol and drugs. The association also organizes themed events, public gatherings, and excursions and recreational trips for the whole family. It works with local partners, including the city’s youth services and congregations, and is supported by the national organization Raittiuden Ystävät ry.

Porvoon Raittiusseura welcomes people interested in temperance work and supporting parenthood to participate. The association can be contacted by email for information about joining and its activities.
