Guests can hear kiwi calling nearby and may encounter native birds such as kaka, kakariki, tui, bellbird, tomtit, fantail and kereru. Kakariki Cabin also features an outdoor hot tub among the greenery, offering a place to unwind beneath Rakiura’s dark skies. There is no television, supporting a stay focused on the surrounding environment. Optional extras include Wi-Fi and rental car bookings, subject to availability.
