## Description

RandoMafate is a hiking app created in Réunion to help visitors and local walkers plan and enjoy routes across the island, with a focus on the Mafate cirque. Hikers can build itineraries by choosing departure points, destinations and intermediate islets, then view distance, elevation gain and loss, difficulty and estimated walking time. Calculations use IGN elevation data and can be updated without a network connection. The app provides downloadable maps, trail information, weather along a planned route, and alerts about ONF closures and weather warnings. It also offers suggested walks, information about mountain lodges and guest tables, and the option to import or export GPX tracks with Premium. For added reassurance, users can share their outing with chosen contacts, who receive updates at departure and arrival and can follow progress through a web page. Hikers can also share short-lived trail reports about conditions such as mud or flooded ravines. Mafate routes, closures, lodging information and points of interest are available free; Premium adds island-wide trails and other features.
