## Description

Raynbird Bay Group is home to the Raynbird Boer Goat Stud, established in 2017 on New Zealand’s Otago Peninsula. The farm’s varied landscape includes pasture, steep hillsides, grassland and scrub, providing a setting suited to raising goats. The stud focuses on Boer goats, a meat-producing breed introduced to New Zealand in 1987 for its production potential, and features a section for goats for sale.

Boer goats are valued for their adaptability to different climates and pasture conditions, fast growth, high fertility and the good mothering abilities of the does. They are also known for their docile nature. As browsers and foragers, goats eat a varied diet that can include grass, plant parts, shrubs and trees. They generally avoid food that is dirty or has been walked over. This natural feeding behaviour makes them well suited to environments with a mix of pasture and scrubland. Raynbird Bay Group shares information about its stud, its sires and dams, the Boer goat breed and available animals through its website.
