Its operations focus on safeguarding Bahamian waters and include maritime patrols, vessel boardings, migrant apprehension, drug interdiction, and search-and-rescue activity. The Force also maintains an Air Wing and works with partner agencies to support national and regional security.

The RBDF’s public website shares news, operational updates, historical information, leadership details, and resources about its mission and personnel. Visitors can access application forms and information about career options in the Officer Corps, Enlisted Corps, and Reserves, as well as resources for RBDF veterans. The organization highlights priorities including modernization, operational readiness, training, inclusion, accountability, personnel welfare, logistics, and partnerships.
