## Description

The Rancho Bernardo Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving the history of Rancho Bernardo and helping the public connect with the area’s past through education, programs, and community outreach. Serving Rancho Bernardo, a community within San Diego, the Society relies on memberships, donations, volunteers, and contributions to its collections to support its work.

Visitors can explore local history at the Society’s museum, located at Bernardo Winery, where exhibits share stories of Rancho Bernardo and its development. The organization also offers an online virtual museum and a searchable collections database featuring hundreds of photographs, with new items added regularly. Its historical resources include timelines, articles from Society newsletters, Bernardo Brandings magazines published from 1963 to 1974, and recorded oral histories.

Community programs include a speaker series and events such as the Pancake Festival, Spirit of the Fourth, and Vines & Vittles Festival. The Society welcomes volunteers, including board members, docents, and committee contributors, and invites the public to become members, donate, or contribute materials to its collections.
