Description
The Archdiocese of Vancouver in Vancouver, BC has been faithfully serving Catholics in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia since 1863. Established as the Vicariate Apostolic of British Columbia with Bishop Louis-Joseph d’Herbomez as the Vicar Apostolic, it later became the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vancouver (RCAV) in 1908, with Archbishop Augustin Dontenwill appointed as the first Archbishop. Today, Archbishop Miller leads the Archdiocese, tending to both the spiritual and administrative needs of the pastors and people.
The Archdiocese of Vancouver is committed to carrying out the mission of the Church and helping people experience God’s merciful love. They prioritize Making Every Sunday Matter, Getting Closer to Jesus, Strengthening Marriages and Families, and Developing Parish Leadership and Support.
