About

Description

The Royal College of Chiropractors (RCC) is a professional membership body dedicated to promoting and supporting high standards of education, practice, and research in chiropractic care. As an apolitical organization, the RCC ensures that chiropractors are able to provide exceptional care to their patients and be recognized for it. The RCC has a rich history, originating from the Chiropractors Act in 1994.

Recognizing the limitations of the General Chiropractic Council, the profession's registering body, the RCC was established in 1998 as an independent body to bridge the gap in areas such as education, training, research, and specialization. It quickly grew and fostered a regional faculty infrastructure, providing education locally and promoting information sharing among members. In 2012, the RCC was granted a prestigious Royal Charter, solidifying its position as a unique and consultative body.

To better convey its role in setting standards for chiropractic practice quality, postgraduate training, professional development, and research, the RCC changed its name to The Royal College of Chiropractors in 2013. Through its Lay Partnership Group and UK-wide program of subsidised CPD events, the RCC actively engages patients and the public, ensuring their interests are supported. With a commitment to promoting the art, science, and practice of chiropractic, the RCC continues to improve and maintain standards in chiropractic care for the benefit of the public
