## Description

Rustenburg Community Development Trust (RCDT) is a community development organisation focused on sustainable upliftment in Rustenburg, working across mining and non-mining contexts. Established in 2014, it partners with residents and local stakeholders across 65 villages in five regions to turn community priorities into lasting social and economic opportunities. Its approach emphasizes accountable investment, measurable outcomes and local participation.

RCDT supports entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized businesses, and local enterprises through funding, guidance and oversight intended to strengthen business sustainability and create jobs. Its economic development work also includes skills development, manufacturing and local production. In agriculture, the Trust backs community farming, food security and agro-processing initiatives that can expand livelihoods and create value from local production.

The organisation also invests in community resilience and essential services. Its work includes education, early childhood development and post-schooling, alongside health initiatives such as clinic improvements, wellness activities, antenatal and postnatal support, youth health, and aged and frail care.
