## Description

New Zealand Riding for the Disabled (NZRDA) is a member association and a leading provider of therapeutic horse riding in Aotearoa New Zealand. Through a network of 48 local groups, it supports disabled children, young people and adults, as well as people with specific challenges or needs. NZRDA programmes use the movement and interaction of horses to promote health and wellbeing, while helping riders build strength, balance, coordination, confidence and independence. Each rider receives an individual assessment and a programme tailored to their goals. Qualified coaches deliver the sessions with support from trained volunteers and specially selected therapy horses. The organisation operates within a nationally governed framework that includes quality assurance, training and continuous improvement, and describes its approach as safe and evidence-informed. Alongside therapeutic riding, NZRDA provides information for families and health professionals, shares rider stories and research, and offers equine courses and learning opportunities. People can support its work through donations, regular giving, gifts in wills, fundraising, sponsorship or volunteering.
