## Description

Recklinghausen leuchtet is a citywide light festival that transforms the historic centre of Recklinghausen, Germany, into an illuminated cultural destination. The 2026 edition runs from 23 October to 8 November under the theme “Dreams Under the Starry Sky.” Its centrepiece is a new Rathaus (town hall) projection show, combining light and imagery to explore dreams. The show is scheduled daily from 6 to 9 p.m., at half past and on the hour, and visitors can submit their own dreams for possible display as illuminated messages on city façades.

The festival programme brings together visual spectacles, live music and community events. Highlights include drone shows, concerts by the Neue Philharmonie Westfalen at St. Peter’s Church, comedy through “Campus meets Comedy,” and performances in the Sparkassen Clubroom. Visitors can also enjoy Terrassenglühen, a lantern run and a Sunday shopping event on 8 November. A calendar lists activities across venues throughout the old town, with both free and ticketed events.
