Read by 4th is Philadelphia's early literacy movement, dedicated to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to read. With a mission to protect every child's right to read, Read by 4th is a citywide coalition of family, community, and systems leaders. Currently, two-thirds of Philly's children are not reading at grade level, but Read by 4th is determined to change that.

They believe that everyone has a role to play in growing stronger readers, and they foster meaningful partnerships across families, communities, and systems. By deepening understanding, amplifying innovation, listening and reflecting, and using storytelling for good, Read by 4th is making a significant impact in increasing literacy levels across the city.
