About
Description
Readmill was a brand that aimed to create an open, independent reading platform. Founded in February 2011 by Henrik Berggren and David Kjelkerud, Readmill developed a reading app for iOS and Android that offered a beautiful reading experience and encouraged sharing among its community of readers. Over the years, Readmill celebrated several milestones, with a total of 560,797 hours read and 1,252,192 highlights created.
The community enjoyed reading popular books such as Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka, Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy, and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Despite their accomplishments, Readmill faced challenges in creating a sustainable platform for reading. As a result, they made the difficult decision to end their product.
However, they ensured that users could export their books and reading data in multiple formats until July 1, 2014. Moving forward, the Readmill team joined Dropbox, where they continue to explore new ways to read together. Readmill's contribution to the reading community has been remarkable, and they express gratitude to their readers for their support and feedback throughout the journey
