## Description

Read Your World (RYW), formerly known as Multicultural Children’s Book Day, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion within children's literature. Founded by passionate reading advocates Valarie Budayr and Mia Wenjen, RYW emerged from a desire to increase the availability of multicultural children's books. Each year, the initiative celebrates Multicultural Children's Book Day on the last Thursday of January, rallying thousands from various communities, including authors, parents, educators, and bloggers, to recognize and support diverse narratives in children's literature.

In addition to the annual celebration, Read Your World actively works to distribute multicultural books to classrooms and libraries, having donated over 10,800 books to date. Their mission inspires individuals to ensure all children see themselves reflected in the stories they read, fostering an inclusive reading culture. Through various programs, sponsorships, and community partnerships, RYW continues to expand its reach and impact, enriching the lives of young readers with diverse literary resources.
