REC COFFEE (レックコーヒー) is a specialty coffee brand based in Fukuoka, Hakata. Our mission is to bring the unforgettable experience of coffee to as many people as possible. Acting as a space for recording and recreating the joy of coffee, REC COFFEE is dedicated to delivering the perfect cup to everyone. We started our journey with a mobile truck, an uncommon concept at the time, as we wanted to share the transformative power of coffee. We actively participated in barista competitions to promote and educate about specialty coffee, and in 2016, our founder, Yutaka Iwase, achieved second place in the World Barista Championship (WBC), the largest competition of its kind. With five stores in Fukuoka, two in Tokyo, and two in Taiwan, we aim to create a local and beloved coffee shop that continues to provide exceptional coffee. At REC COFFEE, we focus exclusively on specialty coffee. We prioritize sustainability and traceability in our sourcing process, carefully selecting beans that will deliver a memorable coffee experience. Our expertise lies not only in sourcing but also in the art of roasting. We roast each coffee bean to enhance its unique character, exploring the balance between acidity and sweetness. Our single-origin beans are roasted to a level that allows their true character to shine through, providing the optimal flavor. Our commitment to quality extends to our baristas who are not only skilled but also devoted to delivering high-quality experiences to our customers. Our talented team consists of professionals who have achieved impressive results in various barista competitions. In addition to our exceptional coffee, we offer a range of pastries prepared by our dedicated patissiers. By carefully selecting ingredients and considering their compatibility with coffee, we aim to provide a wonderful experience where coffee and pastries come together.
