## Description

RECORD is the Local Environmental Records Centre for Cheshire, Halton, Warrington and Wirral. The organisation collects, collates and manages environmental information for the region, helping make knowledge about local wildlife available to those working to protect it. It also supports wildlife recorders of all abilities, encouraging people to share observations and contribute to a clearer picture of local species and habitats.

People can submit one-off wildlife sightings through a quick recording form or share records using the Swift data-entry system. RECORD provides guidance on what makes a wildlife record, how submitted data is handled, and where to find help identifying species. Its website also offers a local species gallery, learning resources, recommended books and information for schools, universities and community groups.

The centre makes wildlife information accessible through record searches, including commercial ecological data searches, and explains how its data is used. RECORD also runs projects, hosts events, supports volunteering and connects people with local wildlife groups.
