About
Description
The Regional Environmental Council (REC) is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Food Justice in Worcester and Central Massachusetts. As a leader in the community, REC is committed to creating a just food system for all. One of the key initiatives of REC is their Farmers Markets, where they provide access to fresh, affordable, and locally sourced produce.
Accepting various payment options including cash, card, WIC, Senior Coupons, SNAP, and Healthy Incentives Program (HIP), REC ensures that everyone can enjoy the benefits of a healthy diet. Another important program offered by REC is their UGROW Network, which consists of over 70 Community and School Gardens across Worcester. By encouraging community involvement and education, REC empowers individuals to actively participate in growing their own food and cultivating sustainable practices.
Join REC in their mission to build a more equitable and sustainable future. Volunteer, intern, or explore employment opportunities. Attend their events such as Earth Day cleanups, plant sales, and garden workshops.
Together, we can create a thriving and inclusive community. Contact REC today to get involved!
