## Description

Recycleforrehab is a UK-based resource dedicated to Appropriate Paper-based Technology (APT), the production of useful items from waste cardboard and paper. The site promotes knowledge and practical expertise in APT, especially to support people with disabilities in low-resource settings and practitioners working in low- and middle-income countries. APT began in Zimbabwe in the 1970s with college lecturer Bevill Packer and has since been developed and used largely by occupational and physiotherapists. In the UK, Jean and Kennett Westmacott have played a prominent role in developing the technology and training others.

Recycleforrehab provides free templates and training videos to help people make practical products, and gives practitioners a place to share expertise, showcase their work and exchange templates internationally. Its resources cover rehabilitation equipment, including chairs, standing frames, stools, benches, trays and wheelchair inserts; toys and educational items; and household products such as bookcases, storage cabinets, tables, tea trays, place mats and pen holders. APT can support children’s rehabilitation and help adults create items they can sell to support themselves.
