In Uruguay, over 250,000 people struggle to access food, while a staggering 125 million kg of fruits and vegetables are wasted each year. Redalco aims to bridge this gap by rescuing nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste. Their process involves collecting fruits and vegetables that would be discarded at the UAM and local farms, and distributing them to social organizations that provide meals to those in need.
