## Description

The Redd Reef Offshore Open is a Charleston, South Carolina, nonprofit fishing tournament honoring the memory of Captain David Redd, a respected member of the local fishing community. Held annually in the offshore waters he loved, the event brings together anglers, sponsors, and supporters for competition, camaraderie, and charitable giving. Proceeds support the David Redd Reef through the South Carolina Memorial Reef, helping enrich marine habitat and sustain a resource for the sportfishing community.

The tournament’s 2026 program runs June 24–28 and includes a captain’s meeting, three fish days, weigh-ins at four marina locations, and an awards banquet. Anglers can compete for blue marlin, white marlin, and sailfish release categories, as well as wahoo, tuna, and dolphin meat-fish categories. Entry costs $500, with a tiered prize format. The organization also offers sponsorship opportunities that provide brand visibility, community engagement, access to tournament events, and association with a lasting local legacy. Through its tournament, the Redd Reef Offshore Open connects sportfishing with conservation and remembrance.
