## Description

Socialist Alternative, Australia’s largest Marxist revolutionary group, was founded in the mid-1990s and advocates for the overthrow of capitalism while fighting against oppression in everyday struggles. Central to their mission is Red Flag, a not-for-profit left-wing newspaper established in 2013, which amplifies marginalized voices in a media landscape dominated by corporate interests. Red Flag serves as an educational resource and a platform for revolutionary ideas, covering class struggle and Marxist theory. Socialist Alternative organizes various initiatives, including street protests, trade union campaigns, and educational forums. Their activism includes significant contributions to the marriage equality movement, anti-fascist demonstrations, and advocating for refugees. They also run campus clubs that foster left-wing activism among students, offering discussion groups on Marxism and organizing protests against unjust university policies. Through publications like the Marxist Left Review and events such as the national Marxism conferences, Socialist Alternative invites individuals interested in socialist politics to engage and participate actively.
