## Description

ReDI (Re-shaping Development Institute) is a global think tank dedicated to reflecting on, reassessing, and researching international development cooperation. With the aim to transform and improve international development cooperation, ReDI boldly reforms the policies, institutions, and practices of Official Development Assistance (ODA). As a leader in this field, ReDI proposes and leads the way towards achieving its original mission. 

ReDI is a knowledge community that experiments with and evaluates various cases of success and failure in international development cooperation, contributing to the overall understanding of development. It also acts as an outreach field farm that designs and manages effective projects tailored to local circumstances and contexts. Additionally, ReDI serves as a battleground for creating a new knowledge industry based on the values of civil society and the private sector in Korea.

With its expertise as an evaluation research institution for ODA, ReDI has played a leading role in international collaboration, WASH projects, and policy research. However, challenges in establishing meaningful business areas have been encountered due to internal capacity, political situations, and fierce competition. Nonetheless, ReDI continues to explore new frontiers in knowledge industries and invests in the future of international development cooperation by pursuing knowledge generation and practical research at the forefront.

ReDI's focus is to become the foremost knowledge partner in the field of international development. To remain sustainable, international development must go beyond traditional concepts, boundaries, frameworks, and approaches. This includes introducing the Total Official Support for Sustainable Development (TOSSD), emphasizing innovative partnerships between the public, private, and academic sectors, and expanding new projects that target not only the least developed countries but also low- and middle-income countries. ReDI aims to diversify its funding sources, including government budgets, global corporations, mid-sized enterprises, international organizations, multilateral banks, private funds, and regional organizations. As the accumulation and analysis of knowledge, research methods, data collection, and performance measurement rapidly evolve, ReDI faces numerous tasks that demand change.

In preparation for the changing international environment on the Korean Peninsula and the era of North-South cooperation, ReDI pledges several commitments. First, it will accelerate the establishment of new areas and ventures by utilizing the expertise of evaluation research, international collaboration research, and practical fieldwork. Second, ReDI emphasizes the need for individuals who empathize with its sense of urgency and the direction it aspires to. To prevent brain drain, ReDI aims to become a small but elite group of top-notch knowledge partners, implementing stricter recruitment, promotion, and compensation systems. Furthermore, it will maximize the expertise of the board of directors and advisory committee members, expand the pool of external professionals participating in projects, and operate ReDI as an international
