## Description

The Redress Design Award is the premier global competition dedicated to sustainable fashion design, aimed at educating emerging designers on innovative sustainable practices. Organized by Redress, a prominent environmental NGO based in Hong Kong, the award shines a spotlight on the next generation of fashion visionaries, encouraging them to address the industry's significant environmental challenges. The program offers an extensive educational journey that includes workshops, the Redress Academy, and collaboration with over 170 universities worldwide. Participants are guided to embrace sustainable design techniques such as zero-waste, upcycling, and reconstruction, equipping them to transform textile waste into elegant, viable fashion collections.

Since its inception in 2011, the Redress Design Award has evolved significantly, expanding its reach to a global audience and diversifying its competition criteria. It not only showcases the creativity and sustainability ethos of emerging designers but also offers career-boosting prizes, thereby maximizing their potential impact in reshaping the future of fashion towards a circular economy.
