## Description

Redruth Charity Trust is a registered charity established in 1935 to support non-political and non-sectarian organisations serving the Redruth area. It focuses on clubs, societies and community groups within the TR15 and TR16 postal districts, helping provide occupational, recreational and educational opportunities. The Trust describes itself as the only charity offering this particular form of support to community groups in Redruth.

Its grants are delivered through three award schemes. Youth Sports Awards support young people and local sports, with applications opening in December and closing in February. Community Awards provide funding for local groups, with applications accepted from July to September. Fred Harris Education Awards are available to the ten junior schools in and around Redruth during the summer term. The Trust publishes news about its awards and community work, and invites organisations to get in touch about applying for support. Its grant-making is backed by local businesses that partner with the charity through three-year sponsorship schemes. Redruth Charity Trust is registered in England and Wales under charity number 228447.
