## Description

Regieorgaan SIA is an influential organization dedicated to enhancing the quality and impact of practice-oriented research conducted by universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands. By financing innovative research and fostering collaborations between educational institutions, businesses, and public organizations, SIA plays a vital role in bridging gaps between theory and practice. Their funding initiatives include notable programs such as SPRONG, which promotes the integration of higher education institutions into regional and international knowledge ecosystems, and the KIEM initiative, which supports exploratory research projects involving partnerships with private entities.

One of SIA's highlighted successes is the "Design Your Life" project from HAN University of Applied Sciences, which won the RAAK-award 2024 for its impactful toolkit designed to empower youths with autism. Through events like the SIA-congres, where over 500 participants gather yearly to celebrate applied research, Regieorgaan SIA demonstrates its commitment to advancing knowledge and societal resilience, ultimately reinforcing the vital connection between research and real-world applications.
