## Description

The Institute for Regional Conservation (IRC) is a dedicated organization focused on the protection and restoration of rare plants, animals, and ecosystems in South Florida. Through its innovative programs, such as the Pine Rockland Initiative, IRC aims to restore vital habitats and promote biodiversity. The institute engages in comprehensive ecological research and offers resources such as a floristic inventory of the South Florida and Florida Keys, and specialized publications, including the book "Rare Plants of South Florida: Their History, Conservation, and Restoration."

IRC actively participates in safeguarding endangered species and ecosystems, working closely with local government and conservation groups to halt harmful developments like Miami Wilds, which threaten sensitive habitats. The organization stands at the forefront of ecological restoration, advocating for long-term strategies to protect unique environments crucial to species that exist nowhere else on Earth. With a mission to reconnect people with nature, IRC encourages community involvement through education, events, and volunteer opportunities to foster conservation efforts.
