## Description

Le Tombeau de la Reine is an educational archaeology project focused on the history of the Abbey Church of Payerne and Queen Bertha of Swabia, a prominent figure associated with the site. It invites visitors to explore the mystery of where the queen’s original tomb was located within the abbey grounds. The project presents an investigation developed with archaeologists and historians, guiding participants through nine clues to help them examine the evidence and solve the question themselves. Its website provides information on how to take part, individual clue pages, and the investigation’s results. It also documents the opening and study of a previously unexplored tomb in the parish church on 20 May 2021, with short video reports showing the progress of the work. In addition to the online investigation, the site directs visitors to information about visiting the Abbey Church and acknowledges its partners, including Explore-Broye. Le Tombeau de la Reine combines local history, archaeological research, and an interactive discovery experience for people interested in Payerne’s heritage.
