## Description

ReLI, the Portuguese Network of Independent Bookshops, is a mutual-support association bringing together independent bookstores across Portugal. Its members operate outside the major publishing and bookselling chains, representing local shops from north to south. The network coordinates efforts to support small booksellers and address challenges in the book market, including by engaging with the public and government authorities.

ReLI connects readers with participating bookshops through a nationwide directory and a growing online sales platform, where customers can search for and buy books from neighborhood stores. The network also promotes campaigns and cultural activities, including celebrations of independent bookshops and booksellers, author talks, book launches, storytelling sessions, family workshops, and exhibitions. These initiatives invite people of all ages to discover local bookshops and take part in community life.

Committed to freedom of expression and the free circulation of ideas, ReLI advocates for bookshops as places of learning, dialogue, and cultural exchange. Its membership continues to grow, and the network welcomes new independent bookshops interested in joining its collaborative effort.
