## Description

Remembering the Past Australia is a history-focused website dedicated to sharing copies of original articles, pictures and transcripts that illuminate Australia’s past. Its collection brings together material on historical events, biographies, bushrangers, convicts, military service, family history and everyday life. Visitors can explore digitised records and stories, including passenger lists, electoral rolls, directories, employment and land records, police and legal material, and convict returns and lists. The site also features period recipes, Christmas content, practical advice, sewing and crafts, games, poetry, memories, reminiscences, bush yarns and tales. Historic pictures and “On This Day” entries offer additional ways to discover people and events, while guides point readers toward online family-history resources. Featured posts range from early Sydney and nineteenth-century bushranging to wartime letters, photographs and patriotic songs. Remembering the Past Australia presents this varied material for readers interested in Australian history and genealogy, while noting that some historical language and references to deceased people may be culturally sensitive.
