## Description

Rent-A-Ruminant provides an eco-friendly approach to vegetation management, using goats to clear unwanted growth from residential, commercial, and other properties. Founded in 2004 by Tammy Dunakin, the company began with ten goats and has since grown its herd to more than 120. Its corporate office and team are based on Vashon Island in the Seattle area, while its franchise network serves locations beyond the region.

Customers can hire a herd to eat vegetation such as blackberries, ivy, and other invasive plants. Goats can work on steep hillsides and rough terrain that may be difficult or unsafe for people and machinery to access. This method can reduce the need for noisy equipment and eliminates the need to dispose of cut debris. The company presents goat-based clearing as a sustainable alternative that can save customers time and money, while also offering an engaging spectacle for local communities. Rent-A-Ruminant operates both its own services and a franchise business, and welcomes inquiries from prospective customers and service providers.
