About

Description

The Respiratory Compromise Institute (RCI) is an alliance of medical societies and healthcare providers dedicated to defining and addressing respiratory compromise. Our mission is to raise awareness of this condition among the medical community and utilize existing monitoring tools and treatments to reduce its occurrence. Formally established in 2015, RCI obtained its nonprofit status, solidifying its commitment to improving respiratory care.

The institute was conceived after a conference that focused on defining respiratory compromise and exploring educational and research opportunities. The Clinical Advisory Committee, composed of representatives from key medical societies, plays a crucial role in guiding the institute's activities. While societies have the autonomy to support various initiatives, their involvement underscores the importance of this issue.

RCI's goals include defining respiratory compromise more precisely, finding innovative solutions to prevent harm and fatalities, and raising awareness through education and research. Our coalition comprises experts and thought leaders from physician, nursing, respiratory therapist, and patient safety organizations, with support from industry sources. To learn more about respiratory compromise, access our resources, articles, podcasts, videos, and webinars on our website.

You can also reach out to us for further information or collaboration opportunities. Together, let's work towards mitigating respiratory failure and arresting respiratory compromise
