## Description

RETASTE is an international conference focused on rethinking food resources, losses, and waste. Its sixth edition, RETASTE 2026, is scheduled for September 16–18 in Rethymno, Greece, bringing together researchers, professionals, public-sector representatives, and other participants to explore practical and innovative approaches to food waste and sustainability. The conference features keynote speakers and presentations, with abstracts submitted by authors from dozens of countries.

Alongside its technical program, RETASTE offers technical and cultural visits across Crete. Participants can learn about waste management, mechanical recycling, composting, and circular economy practices at facilities in Rethymno and Chania, while also visiting historic and archaeological sites. The conference includes social events and networking opportunities, including speed dating, and provides guidance on registration, presentations, travel, and the venue.

Hosted in Rethymno’s historic center, the event uses the Cultural House and Rethymno Conservatory as neighboring venues. RETASTE works with sponsors and local partners, and registration fees are processed in collaboration with EUROBANK.
